Special Edition: Monty Combs - Speedway Candadate Interview Series
Sunday Oct 20, 2019
Sunday Oct 20, 2019
As you all may recall I put out an invitation to all of the candidates who are running for positions in the Speedway town government. The first person to take me up on this offer was Monty Combs who is the incumbent for the Clerk-Treasurer position. Monty and I sat down a couple of weeks ago where I had the opportunity to ask him questions about the role of the Clerk-Treasurer, his past four years, his goals for the next four years, and why the citizens of this town should vote for him over his opponent Michelle Lidy. I greatly appreciate Monty for taking the time to sit down with me. I said it in the interview, it takes guts for someone to step up to the plate like he did and going on the record. I give him a lot of credit for coming on the show.
Side note:
This is the first episode that I used my new production setup. Please forgive any loss in my normal recording quality. I am still getting use to editing in with the new setup.

Sunday Oct 06, 2019
Happy October everyone and welcome to National Cybersecurity Awareness month. This year’s theme is Own it, Secure, it, Protect it. NCSAM is in its 16th year and is supported by US-DHS, the National Cybersecurity Alliance, multiple state and local governments and the private sector. My company Iuvare Cyber, which supports this podcast is a NCSAM Champion for the second year in a row. This whole month is meant to raise awareness of the importance of cybersecurity. I will talk a bit more about NCSAM after bit.
There were some troubling stories that I came across this past week from the US and from the EU about government bodies and individuals in government pushing social medial companies specifically Facebook and Twitter to delete “offense” posts about government officials and political parties to suspend a political rivals account. This is a dangerous and slippery slope that we are facing. In my opinion it is a dangerous if not more dangerous than what the democrats are accusing Trump of doing with the Ukraine’s.

Is a Social Media PBS Really What We Need?
Sunday Sep 29, 2019
Sunday Sep 29, 2019
We are a generation raised by government, is more government really what we need? So I took a classic Fight Club line and changed it up so sue me. I really get tired of other people wanting to take my money and spend it on things we just do not need and the government making decisions that just end up costing us, the end consumer more and more.
The past week the New York Times published an opinion article titled “We need a PBS for Social Media” I cannot tell you how wrong and how stupid of an idea this is. At the end of the day all this is doing is expanding government, redistributing money from taxpayers to a government-controlled organization, but most importantly it won’t solve the problem it is saying exists.
The next victim of the U.S versus China tariff war are Apple’s Mac Pro computers. What our fearless political leaders often fail to realize when it comes to economics is that at the end of the day the consumers are always the ones who lose in these wars.
